Once You Have Mastered Time, You Will Understand How True It Is That Most People Overestimate What They Can Accomplish In A Year – And Underestimate What They Can Achieve In A Decade! - Tony Robbins

Image result for tumblr black woman on beach

Let me tell you a story and how I changed my focus and life.

I found myself wanting more out of life and wanting to create that more. At first I thought it was greed, I have created this amazing life for myself. I have accomplish and keep working hard to make things possible. So, what is it? What is that missing feeling?!

We often under estimate the amount of things we can accomplish in a day. I wasn't being greedy for wanting what I deserve and I have time in my day to balance it all. The most important part of my day is the list that I make. This starts with my planner and [If you don't have a planner, get one!] Thank me later!

I find that I am less restless, frazzled and able to accomplish more with my day. The days I just wing it, well I spent more time thinking about my to do list, than being productive.

I learned many years ago, possibly from a speech. I did not want to work very harder [that would mean over working myself to illness!], I wanted to work smarter! I met a millionaire and I never forgot any of his lessons. Let's just say his 10 minute speech changed my life. I remembering him saying work smarter, not harder. Like many of us, he was also raised to believe you work hard and eventually your money would just multiply. That is not true!

Working for someone else will never make you rich, [well, unless your making millions in one year, I guess!] , you have a better chance at building an empire of your own. Who wouldn't want to have a successful empire of there own? This is a relative question because many people prefer a simple life.

So how can one master time effectively to get what you want out of your life? Happiness? Money? Travel?

By knowing what you want, using it, changing your focus and having enough reasons to follow through. You ever wonder how someone comes from nothing and creates this amazing life for themselves. Many times it is because they don't want to live in poverty, be homeless, get out of an area, they have reasons to follow through.

I used to ask my self what do I have to do? How can I get it done? Where? when? how? Now I see the results first, by doing this I create questions that fuel me differently.

I know ask myself; What's my outcome? what's my desired result?

This changes my focus of the hustle and bustle of getting things done, to what is going to make me happy.
I no long focus on fear, pain or temporary relationships. This is more of a spiritual focus! Making a plan for your life is essential because if you don't you will fit into everyone else's plan.

This ladies and gentle was the realization I came too. I spent many time listen to many speakers, spiritual leaders and when you change your focus, you change the emotion attached to time. I realize I kept making promises to myself, promises I never kept. Tony Robins said "This inability to see through your promises meant your confidence would often be affected in other areas". A statement that is very true to this day.

That overwhelming feeling was what my focus was on. Creating change for your life is a matter of motivation, drive and a strong enough reason. The mind focuses on what you feel, and what you focus on negative or positive gives you those exact results -negative+ positive/.

The Year I put everything on Hold "Limitations are self -imposed"

+Dejavunaturals

I wanted to start this off with a simple hair care post, but in writing it I realize that my blog has been on a very long Hiatus. Although I have posted videos, I have done no research or articles for what seems like a year. I may be correct or may not, but it's been a very long time. Let me explain!

After the passing of my mother, the unimaginable pain, the sleepless nights, 40 pound weight gain, sickness, depression, high estrogen and so much more. Oh! I cant explain how heart broken I was and how my life changed so quickly. I found myself lost, crying at any moment, and most importantly my life was slowly falling apart. You see, everything I had worked hard for no longer made sense to me, everything I wanted was slowly being taken away.  I could not maintain the work ethic I hard conditioned myself to maintain. It felt like my desire had died and along with it any meaning to life.

I fell into the worst depression of my life, the one that makes you want to take your life and simply send a text saying I need to go. After the passing of my mother, I wanted to die. I can speak openly about it because in 2016, I am going to  change someone's life. I made a promise to myself that this year is my year of growth and sharing.

Fast forward and depression has been muted due to a profound belief, pray and building a closer relationship with God. I was able to get much needed help and humble myself enough to say I need it. Growing up in a west indian home, you dealt with things, stay silent and kept moving forward. No one talks about mental illness and the effect it has on our community. The opposite is true, it does exist, we all need help sometimes and it is okay to ask for it.

I'll share with you a recent post I wrote on my Instagram;

▫limitations are self imposed ▫ & so I've learned to feel comfort - able in me. Learning that at different stages in my life I become more comfortable with who I am. It is @ that level of comfort that allows me to write so clearly and speak clearly in my convictions. The best gift I gave to myself was ▫confidence▫ see I mastered the art of loving me & maybe to some that doesn't mean much...it takes confidence to accomplish dreams, and even in those moments of insecurities you have to be confident to keep moving forward ▫ & even in the moments where you experience heart break you keep on moving... yes it's confidence but more importantly ▫strength ▫in this year of growth, i have all that I need ▫The presence of those I love does not take away from me but adds value ▫ & so I choose not to over look what I have been blessed with. Instead I choose to nurture and allow people into my life that will bring out the best in me, the very best in me. ▫I love ▫I am love ▫Imagine being surrounded by people that bring out the most gratifying human experience ▫ life is about you changing your perspective & mentality▫creating a plan to execute your dreams ▫& envision yourself in the roles you dream of▫Be careful because the company you keep can hold you back or push you forward▫& so I'm mindful, careful and thoughtful ▫only knowing that the life I want, I get to create ▫creating a magical life 💕

Today, I can say I am in a better place my ability to write articles and get myself back on track has slowly found its way back into my life.

Thank you all for being so patient, continuing to follow me, support me, send emails and now lets continue to learn with eachother.

If you do something you LOVE, you will never work a day in your life!!!!

*******************************
If you do something you LOVE,you will never work a day in your
LIFE !!!!!
*******************************
This is something that sits on my desk to remind me of the things I want to accomplish and the life I want. I am a very creative person and knowing this at a very young age has helped me come to the realization that the typical 9-5 is so boring to me. Yes, it provides all that I need but I’m bored. I am very hands on, I get excited by creating, doing, music, the arts I love that world. So what is a girl that love the arts doing sitting at a desk.

Questions I ask myselef day in and day out. There were many sacrifices that came with choosing my path. For starters I wanted to be there for the women I adore, my mother. Eventually I had to grow up and make a choice, until my mother said this to me. Have fun, life your life, be good, and do what you love”

Happy 2 Years Natural to ME!!!!

I can't believe it's been two years on my heatlhy journey and a life time with my natural hair. I dont call this
my natural hair journey so much anymore. I call it my healthy journey, I have taken an interest in taking care of my hair, skin, and body. In 2013 I want to share so much more of my journey with you, I finally got a new camera so the styles will be pouring in.

I absolutely love the idea of learning so much about myself and natural remedies and so much more I can do.

Relax, Natural, Texlax: IT'S MY HAIR

www.dejavunaturals.blogspot.com
This picture was taken on my two year natural hair journey :video coming soon!

Hey ladies,

I know I mainly talk about natural hair and have never gotten my hair relaxed, texlaxed nothing.
I must admit there are some styles I see and wish I could try but I do love my natural hair. I know from time to time I will have readers you are interested in learning more and finding out what works for there permed hair or any other way you choose to wear their hair.

I am very much pro choice, I believe everyone has the choice to do as they please. There are good and bad consequences for everything you choose and that is all we need to know. Natural hair is not for everyone and definitely a decision you must be ready to commit too. I am two years natural, in love with my hair and it still becomes difficult at times.

I truly do not support forcing someone to go natural or relax or bullying them into going natural or relax. I hear it all the time on youtube, facebook, and other social outlets. I hear youtubers being attack through comments for deciding they want to go natural or natural ladies deciding am going to perm their hair. We need to remember that it is a choice and yes they have put themselves out there to follow their journey but people are allowed to live their lives according to how they want. You can choose to join them on their new journey or unsubscibe and that's okay too. As you are following their journey keep in mind it is a journey whether it be relax or natural they are on a journey and sometimes people may want to take a different journey, need a change, or just decided this isnt for me.

What do you think, is it right to go on this natural journey and then have a relaxer?
Do you think that once you have shared your journey for people to follow on youtube you have a responbility to uphold  to?

Please leave your comments below I would love to hear what you have to say. I plan on addressing this issue in with a future video.

Achieving the Perfect Bantu Knot

For me achieving the perfect Bantu Knot is really simple. I spend very little time on my hair
when it comes to style. I find as my hair gets longer I want simple, easy to do, cute styles.

Over the summer I achieve the perfect bantu knot style. I absolutely loved it and the colour
was clip-in extensions I use to achieve this look.

Remember to enjoy every moment of your hair, relax or natural

Products you will need:

Wide tooth comb
coconut oil
leave in conditioner ( I use Giovanni leave-in conditioner)
Black castor oil
water/aloe vera gel
edge control (optional for your edges to stay down)

Steps:

1) Make sure your hair is detangled properly and clean

2) Apply your leave in conditioner, oils (jojoba oil, coconut oil)

3) Comb the product through your hair or use your fingers to rake it through

4) Twist your hair as you would doing two strand twist and wrap the hair around itself until you
get a small ball. or bantu knot. Many choose to just gather the hair and twist it until you achieve
the bantu knot. It reallydepends on what look you are going for and definition. I wanted alot of
definition so I did two strand twist my hair first

5) To add the extension sew clips (you can get these from any hair store) on to your extension.
I only added about four small pieces to add some dimension and colour to my end result.

6) If you choose to use clip-ins remember to also do Bantu Knots on them as well

I will post a video on this style. I probably wont be doing this style anytime soon.

Here is a great video detailing each step...I love these two ladies...Enjoy

As always thanks for stopping by and come back soon!

P.S I HOPE ALL MY AMERICAN FOLLOWERS HAD AN AMAZING HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Easy How to do Yarn Braids - Genie Locs Styles

Hey lovely Naturals, relaxed, gents...It has been so long since I have really sat down and wrote something on here. I seem to only be posting without words. It has been so hectic keeping up but am trying. I have made a schedule that will keep me up to date on my blogging and vlogging. My yarn braids was such a success, except for taking them out, OMG it was a nightmare. I enjoyed this style and felt it really complimented me. I got lots of compliments which only made me feel even more confident with them. I almost never wanted to take them out but with all the build up I found once I removed them...chile!!! I was happy I removed them when I did....I made a quick style video, just a few ways I wore my hair with the yarn braids.   xoxo Stans

Q&A

What kind of yarn?

I used Red Heart Yarn from walmart I bundle of black and 1 small bundle of burgundy. For the blonde pieces I used kankelon hair.

How long did they take

They took between 10-12 hours (watching tv, talking on the phone, eating, doing everything in between lol)

How did you burn the ends?

I sealed the ends by burning them. I used to lighters which made it easier to go through them easily. I made sure to smooth the ends so they loose or get caught in your clothes and remain in tact for the whole time you have them in.

How did you braid the hair?

I braided the hair the same way you would do it if you were to box braids

How long will you keep them in?

I will keep them in for 4-6 weeks. Most likely 4 weeks.

Did you deep condition/protein treatment our hair?

I did an at home deep conditioning/protein treatment overnight using products I had in my house to strengthen my hair before I applied my yarn braids.

Did you blow dry your hair before applying?

No, I just allowed my hair to air dry with twists as I stretch my hair for a few hours. I used my home made leave-in

Are they heavy?

No the are very light

What are you using to moisturizing your hair?

I am using hello hydration with water as a leave in along with just plain water, I have natural oils that I use as well. I incorporate this into my Greenhouse effect.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask below! Thanks for watching

1.5 Straightened Natural Hair (My journey)

Hey guys I been getting very bored with my hair, so a few weeks ago I decided to
finally straighten my hair. It was not completely straight but I really enjoyed just
seeing my progress and how far I have come I am definitely excited and having
lots of fun with my hair. Thanks for all the support.

 Q&A
1. First I deep condition my hair for a few hours using an organic conditioner
    mixed with natural oils
2.I then washed my hair with an organic shampoo and condition again
3. I used apple cider vinegar to for ph balance as I do every week.
4. I applied my leave-in on damp hair.

What flat iron did you use?
I used a flat iron I purchased from walmart CONAIR.

Did you blow dry your hair?
Yes I did lightly and not for long, I then flat iron, my hair was extremely soft.

How long have you been natural?
I have been natural my whole life but never really knew how to care for my hair.
I went on this journey after much research in june of 2010. I cut all my
damage ends from flat ironing sept 2010.

What leave-in did you use?
I use a blend of shea butter and natural oils that I make at home.

What oils did you use?
coconut oil, olive oil. jojoba oil, and castor oil. I have not used olive oil in a while, but
recently started using it again

When will you straigthen your hair again?
I will straigthen my hair for my birthday which is awhile from now. My two year
journey is on sept 2012 so by my birthday I should have a great amouth of growth
which is four months after.

What do you do to grow your hair?
There is no special tricks, I simply care for my hair. I deep condition once a week,
shampoo once a week, and have been doing the Green house Effect everyday for
the past three months. I use all natural or organic products in my hair. I do not like
to try many products I stick to shea butter and natural oils. I also detangle my hair
in the shower once a week. I cut my ends or dust whenever I feel necessary. I am
not scissor happy so I never just chop my ends off. If they are damage ends I get rid
of them. I do not do this very often. I am constantly wearing protective styles about
98% of the time. I will continue to do this until I achieve the length I desire.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask below! Thanks for watching

The Greenhouse Effect & My experience

www.dejavunaturals.blogspot.com

www.dejavunaturals.blogspot.com

What have I been up to with my hair?

Well I straigthened my hair last week, but I only kept it in for a few days. Although it was not
completely straight I didn't mind at all. Lately I been getting bored with my hair more often, I
would say every three months. However I know the importance of hair care and protective
styling to achieve the length I want. I am truly amazed with the progress of my hair, it's doing
amazing.

Yes y'all I have been doing the Green house affect and for me so far it is absolutely love at first try.
I have been doing it now off and on for over three months and my hair was grown so much. You
can check my hair growth challenge for 2012 CLICK HERE.

My Experience

I love the idea of creating a warm environment for your hair, because for me that's when my hair
flourishes the most. Over the past few months I have noticed that my hair has grown more with this
process than it normally would. It was very easy for me to begin this process since I used natural
products for my hair anyways, it just seemed to make sense to try it. I have notice my hair is
extremely softer, my ends aren't as brittle and the overall health of my hair is tremendous.

What I dislike?

What I dislike is the smell of my hair, I am so sensitive to smells that I find myself just covering my
hair. Since I wear wigs often to protect my hair, it's very easy to cover it up. I still deep condition
and wash my hair once a week. I find that whenever I miss a week my scalp seems to act up with
this process. I hardly use any oils in my scalp, I apply it to my hair but I still find that my scalp
becomes so irritated that I have to wash my hair once a week. I do use apple cider vinegar at least
once a week or every two weeks. To be honest with you guys I feel so guilty when I neglect my hair,
after a year and five months I owe it to myself to continue my journey and reach my goal hair length.

What I love?

I love the progress I am experiencing, I love the way my hair feels and especially love learning so
much on my journey. So far on my journey I have yet to really experiment with products or different
routines but this just seemed to make sense after much research and understanding of the process.
I am never one to jump into anything without understanding what it would do. Since I have done
much research on Sebum and creating a heated enviroment for your hair, I decided to try it and it is well
worth the try for me. I am excited to see where my hair will be at the end of the year.

What is the Green House Effect?

The Green house effect is a method in which you create a natural warm enviroment that enables
the natural oils from your scalp to help your hair grow. That natural oil would be Sebum,

Where do I start?

To begin your journey it is best to eliminate the process of using hair products that contain
chemicals and start using natural products to help your hair grow.

The Green House Effect : Directly from the site

Green House Effect was created by Meeka over at Real Queens Click Here

GREEN HOUSE EFFECT
  • On damp or dry hair apply a generous amount of JBCO or EVOO throughout your hair (or how ever much you
  • can tolerate) making sure to coat the ends in the oil to create a protective barrier against pollution, fabrics, dryness ect.
  • This regimen works well with various protective hairstyles such as bantu knot outs and braid outs, so once you’ve oiled your hair you can prep it accordingly depending on how you plan to style it the next day
  • Place shower cap or plastic bag over your hair to lock in the moisture from your scalps natural oils and heat from your head. This creates a green house, steam effect during your sleep which is the best time for your hair growth in this case.
  • Place a head tie/scarf over your head & shower cap making sure that it’s nice and snug; for best results also wear a winter hat over your scarf to help produce more heat.
  • In the morning you may find that your hair is a bit damp from the moisture the steam effect created.
  • You can either blow dry it on cool setting, let it air dry a bit (about 15 mins) before styling, or go ahead and style it while it’s still damp and let it dry as the day progresses.

  • * if you don't really care for the JBCO smell, you should definitely try the Shea Oil with Mango & Papaya it will make your hair smell amazing or you can simply use EVOO from your local grocery store, it's much cheaper!'

Update on My Natural Hair Journey

This was back in late September of 2010, I believe between September and October was the
last time I cut off any damaged ends. My hait was about 2-3inches. I have always been natural
but never really knew what to use or how to care for my hair. I was introduce to youtube by
a friend and never looked back. I have always loved hair, working in salons, doing shows.
I learned at an early age I had to do my own hair, besides I had no one else to do it.
I learned to braid, do weaves, twists, wigs and everything in between.
I can braid, weave, or do any style just by looking at it, am a very creative
person so it only comes naturally. The only thing I never learned that was
in between the styling...I had to learn to take care of my hair. I am glad I am
on this Natural Healthy Hair Journey.

Finding Natural hair products on a budget

Having natural hair does not have to be expensive and you definitely do not need to go broke to have great looking hair. There are alternatives that are less expensive and will keep you on a great budget as many can become obsessed with trying new products "product junkie". I have never been a product junkie choosing to use natural oils, shea butter and of course shampoo and conditioner. I keep my regimen very simple and my products to a minimal. I enjoy protective styling my hair until it grows to my desired length. I also dont have the money to spend a fortune on products consistently. I have however been very diligent in my research for this article taking to naturals and following up on what works for them, what products they like and of course highlighting some of my favourites products in this article and my reviews of the products I do use.

Here a list of helpful products

42-21193761retails for about 3.99$ in Toronto am sure it is much more expensive but many have seen great results with this as it also has a blend of Jojoba oil and coconut oil. It can also be used everyday as a styling cream to strengthen your hair strands.

42-21193761 I know many naturals that love this products, I have yet to try it and not sure if I ever will, maybe one day. For now I have heard from friends and many youtubers that swear by it, of course not everyone is on board so like many products it is a trail and error. It can also be used to strengthen the hair andcan be used on any hair type.

I have started using this for maybe a month now once a week, absolutely love everything about it. The smell is amazing to beginning and my hair so far loves this conditioner. It really softens your hair and gives great moisture. What I love the most is that is is free of sulfates and parabens, I would recommend  that you detangle your hair first because although it works great for me, I have heard from a few people it does not work great at detangling there hair.Cost about 9.99$ in Toronto

Some more staple products
