Calley Dub
Calvin “Calley Dub” Wigley was born and raised in East Toronto, growing up in East York, then as a young teen, infamous “Flemo Park.” Growing up, he always seemed to find his way to an empty piano, or more specifically, his aunt's organ. His mom seeing that he was interested, enrolled him in an afterschool piano program and as the streets says it was a wrap from there. He went on to study classical/jazz piano with accreditation from the Royal Conservatory of Music.
He started making beats and singing, at the age of 16 with the DTP Recording Artists R&B group “Untitled”. Calley Dub added his musical touch to there first single, “All I Need”, which ended up being number one for four weeks on “OTA Live”. Calley Dub also produced the Unknown Misery’s, “Love is Love", which also made it on to the OTA Live Countdown.
Calley Dub has a diverse list of influences, from the musical arrangements of Stevie Wonder, the jazz stylings of Duke Ellington, miles Davis, the lyrical abilities of Common, Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West, to the production skills of DJ Premier, J-Dilla, Dr. Dre, The Neptunes, and Timbaland.
This diversity is exemplified throughout his music, with the ability to mix musicianship with lyricism.
